From the Belleville News-Democrat: "Police chief in East Alton is retiring for health reasons"--
East Alton Police Chief Rich Brown announced today that he is retiring effective May 1.
"Due to the many health issues over the last few months, I have reflected on and re-evaluated my goals," Brown said.
Brown's last day on duty will be Jan. 27, so he can use his accumulated vacation and sick days.
