News from St. Charles County

From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: "St. Charles County celebrates a retail boom," by Nancy Cambria--

On Wednesday, the largest, most expensive Wal-Mart ever built in Missouri celebrates its grand opening. The party marks not only the opening of a center that is expected eventually to gross well over $1 million in annual sales tax revenue for Lake Saint Louis, but the first of many grand openings along the 14-mile stretch of Highway 40 between O'Fallon and Wentzville within the next year.

Major shopping centers featuring anchors such as Lowe's, J.C. Penney, Target, Shop 'n Save and Wehrenberg Theatres are set to open this year in Lake Saint Louis, O'Fallon and Dardenne Prairie.
