From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: "Two killed as storm batters metro area," by Joel S. Currier--
A hiker who was killed by a falling tree limb in Castlewood State Park during Sunday afternoon's violent storm has been identified as Kent Cross, 20, of St. Peters, authorities said today. Cross and some friends were on a hiking trail in the park, in west St. Louis County, when the storm suddenly struck. Cross was fatally injured about 5:15 p.m.
Cross was one of two fatalities linked to the powerful storm, which knocked over trees, damaged property and cut electricity for up to 270,000 customers throughout the metropolitan area. Also killed was Delancy Moore, 54, of East St. Louis, who was struck by debris when a roof collapsed at the K & G Clothing store off of Highway 159 in Fairview Heights.
